Varian 1200/320 - Common Repairs

 

• Ion Gauge Failure. Is your mass spectrometer ion gauge failing to turn on, and your system reports "Checking Vacuum -- Not Ready"? This is a common problem we observe frequently with these quadrupole systems, and 99% of the time the problem is not a defective ion gauge or a faulty electrometer PCB. The problem is a failed component on your RF board which we can quickly repair for you.
• RF Board Failures. We commonly see failures related to lenses not being able to cycle properly through voltages, as well as similar failures in the DC Rod diagnostic. Export your hardware diagnostics from MS Workstation as a .TXT file and email the file to us for review. We can repair most RF board issues.
• Power Supply Problems. We can repair and/or replace all of the power supplies within your Varian quadrupole including the 5V/12V supply, the 24V supplies, and the 36V/332V outputs from the RF high mass power board.
• Power Board Repair. If you observe failed read backs for the 162V from the power board, we can repair this issue for you. Communication issues may be related to the power board also, or a failed 5V supply within the system.
• RF Saturation. We can help get your RF generator response back within specification.

 

Varian Saturn Ion Traps - Common Repairs

 

• Integrator Zero. We will repair and evaluate your Sapwave PCB to ensure the integrator zero circuity is operating properly. We can install a piggy-back PCB or a secondary chip onto your existing Sapwave PCB to resolve common integrator zero problems.
• Trap Heater. We will replace your ion trap heater within the ion trap manifold to ensure proper heating & uniformity of temperature.
• Power PCB. We can repair and replace components on your Varian power board. We have many refurbished power boards in stock at this time.
• Sapwave Exchange. We have refurbished, fully tested and working Sapwave PCBs in stock to minimize your down time.
• Manifold Electronics Assembly. We can repair and replace both the lower and upper manifold PCBs as needed. Send us a screen capture of the diagnostics errors you are observing in MS Workstation software.
• MS/MS, CI or SIS Upgrade. We can upgrade your Sapwave PCB with any of these capabilities. 
• Vacuum Services. We have replacement turbo controllers in stock and will work with you on turbo vacuum related issues.
• Transfer Line. We can repair & replace your Saturn transfer line.
• RF Generation. The RF generator within the Saturn is very robust and reliable, but we have these available in the event that you need one.
